An immigration psychological evaluation is a comprehensive clinical assessment conducted by a licensed mental health professional to support immigration cases. The report helps immigration attorneys and USCIS better understand the mental health impact of the immigration process on the individual or family involved.
-
A well-documented evaluation can provide evidence of psychological distress, trauma, or hardship. This can strengthen your case by showing how your mental health or your family’s well-being would be impacted if your petition is denied.
-
Yes, immigration mental health evaluations provide objective, clinical documentation of the emotional, psychological, and social impact that deportation, separation, or past trauma may have on an individual or their family.
These evaluations help immigration judges and officers understand the human impact behind each case, particularly in situations involving trauma, abuse, or mental health concerns that may not be visible through legal documents alone.
-
Yes. Everything shared during the evaluation is confidential and protected by law, with limited exceptions (such as risk of harm to self or others). Nothing is shared with immigration officials or outside parties without your written consent.
All evaluations are conducted through a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform to protect your privacy and ensure the highest level of confidentiality and care.

I provide trauma-informed care and go at your pace. You will never be forced to share anything you’re not ready to. My goal is to ensure you feel safe and supported throughout the process.

At this time, evaluations are conducted in English. If you speak another language, we can arrange for an interpreter to be present during the session.
To ensure the accuracy and integrity of your evaluation, friends and family members cannot serve as interpreters. A qualified interpreter ensures that your experiences are communicated clearly, respectfully, and without bias, helping to strengthen and protect your case.

In most cases, a written report is sufficient. However, I am available to provide expert testimony if your attorney requests it, and additional fees may apply for preparation and court appearances.

While immigration evaluations can provide powerful support for your case, the final decision is made by immigration authorities. The evaluator’s role is to provide an accurate and professional psychological assessment based on your experiences. We cannot guarantee outcomes and are not responsible for legal decisions related to your petition. However, we are committed to offering a thorough, trauma-informed, and ethically sound evaluation that supports your legal team.
Working With Me
As a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with a strong foundation in mental health, trauma, and social justice, I bring clinical expertise, compassion, and cultural humility to every immigration evaluation I conduct.
My background spans from practicing forensic social work at the Royal Courts of Justice in London, to advocating for children in legal settings in Pittsburgh, to conducting forensic interviews of abuse survivors in New York. These experiences, grounded in legal-psychosocial intersections, built the foundation for my trauma-informed, evidence-based approach to mental health evaluations. I have also gained the unique ability to translate lived experiences into language the legal system understands without losing your humanity in the process, and to professionally collaborate with attorneys and legal teams.
I have worked with hundreds of clients throughout my career and continue to provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive care at Embracing Wellness LLC, where I specialize in trauma, complex PTSD, and mood and anxiety disorders. I approach immigration evaluations with the same rigor, empathy, and attention to detail. My evaluations are not rushed or clinical checklists; they are clear, timely, and well-organized reports to meet legal standards and USCIS guidelines. I understand the weight of these evaluations, and I take that responsibility seriously.
If you’re looking for someone who can speak to lived experience with both clinical and legal credibility, I’m here to support you.
