Embracing Wellness PLLC is a Black woman-owned, trauma-informed private practice based in Washington, DC. Embracing Wellness is dedicated to holistic healing, empowerment, and liberation. We serve individuals, couples, and communities through therapy that honors the mind, body, and spirit. Our work centers cultural responsiveness, social justice, and decolonized mental health care.
We’re expanding our team and looking for a compassionate, grounded, and self-aware therapist who believes in meeting clients where they are and creating affirming spaces for healing and growth.
Position Overview
We’re seeking a licensed clinical therapist to provide individual (and optionally couples) psychotherapy to adolescents and adults. The ideal candidate is committed to culturally attuned, anti-oppressive practice and is comfortable working independently while being part of a supportive and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
Provide high-quality, trauma-informed psychotherapy to clients virtually
Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in EHR (SimplePractice).
Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development.
Collaborate with the clinical director to uphold the practice’s mission, ethics, and standards of care.
Conduct thorough intake assessments, develop treatment plans, and document progress using standardized measures
Facilitate group therapy sessions or workshops as needed.
Ensure adherence to best practices in client care and implement quality improvement initiatives within the practice.
Coordinate care with other professionals (e.g., psychiatrists, psych nurse practitioners, primary care physicians, community providers) to ensure continuity and quality of client care.
Qualifications
Must hold an active DC license (LGSW, LICSW, LPC, LGPC, LMFT, or Psychologist).
Experience working with BIPOC communities, trauma, racial identity, and life transitions preferred.
Strong understanding of trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and strengths-based approaches.
Ability to work independently, manage a caseload, and communicate effectively.
Telehealth experience preferred.
Ability to pass a background and reference check prior to employment
